A Premier Center of Physics Education
The Department of Physics was established in 1967 at Quaid-i-Azam University (then University of Islamabad) under the vision of eminent physicists, including Nobel Laureate Prof. Abdus Salam and founding Chairman Prof. Riazuddin.
Over the past five decades, the department has grown into Pakistan’s top physics institution, producing internationally acclaimed theoretical particle physicists, condensed matter scientists, quantum opticians, and laser specialists.
